BLS Transport
Basic Life Support (BLS) medical transport generally refers to non-emergency medical transportation for patients who require medical monitoring, but do not require advanced medical interventions.
BLS transport only requires the attending ambulance provider to be certified at the EMT level. However, we staff all our ambulances with Paramedics, certified at a higher clinical level, for increased preparedness and safety.
ALS Transport
Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical transport is for patients who require a higher level of medical care during transport due to their condition. ALS transport includes the scope of Basic Life Support (BLS), plus additional advanced medical interventions.
Additional ALS scope may include things like cardiac monitoring, medication administration, IV fluid therapy, etc.
Critical Care Transport
Critical Care Transport (CCT) is the highest level of medical transport, generally reserved for patients requiring intensive medical care during transit.
The CCT scope of care typically involves things like ventilator management for patients that are intubated, sedation medication administration, blood component therapy, and aggressive blood pressure maintenance for often clinically unstable patients.
